Our STORY
Edison’s Ice Cream was born out of a father’s desire to strengthen family bonds. Founder Nate Frary recognized that one of the most cherished family activities for his family of five was sharing the joy of indulging in ice cream. Conversations with others revealed that this sentiment resonated universally!
However, Nate’s vision extended beyond the ordinary; he understood firsthand that many, due to dairy intolerances, couldn’t partake in this cherished tradition. Armed with an entrepreneurial spirit, Nate embarked on a mission to not only offer delightful products that can be enjoyed by all but also a welcoming haven for fostering connections.
At Edison’s, our bedrock is fostering connection and community. We do this through nurturing collaboration within our team, facilitating meaningful connections among our cherished customers, and intentionally making a positive impact on the broader community through meaningful partnerships and collaborations.
Our journey began with Edison’s Ice Cream Cart in 2024. We envisioned our classic black and white cart to be an iconic symbol of ice cream and nostalgia throughout Fort Collins.
Our cart quickly expanded to offer package options for private events and catering. We are proud to provide a fun experience at community events throughout Northern Colorado.
By the end of 2024, we established our 12 signature flavors. Inspired by the reinvention of nostalgic ice cream and childhood treats, we perfected our recipes with dietary restrictions and attention to craft.
With the goal of introducing Edison’s Ice Cream to the community, we sold pints for local pickup out of our production kitchen in Fort Collins.
In the spring of 2025, we opened the doors of our flagship ice cream parlor in Fort Collins.
While honoring our appreciation for simplicity and the past, we are looking forward to innovation and expansion in the future–through growing our team, fostering our community, and refining our craft.
